Jean Miller Holzaepfel of Waukesha died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Avalon Square at age 79. She was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Chicago, to Robert and Cherry (White) Ketcham.
She was a longtime resident of Waukesha, then moved to Florida for 10 years before returning to Waukesha. She had been employed by the Waukesha school system for many years. Jean was a former member of St. Lukeís Lutheran Church.
She will be missed by her husband, Norman Richard Holzaepfel of Waukesha, along with her children, Guy Miller of Waukesha, Debbie (Gary) Rosema of Waukesha, Mark (Angie) Miller of Alabama and Jill (Gary) DeVoe of Vermont. Jean was the dear grandmother of Guy Miller Jr., Sarah Miller, Autumn Alexander, Jack and Emily DeVoe. She is further survived by her stepchildren, Jac (Faye) Holzaepfel of Georgia, Jim (Belinda) Holzaepfel of Ohio and Susie (Russ) Porterfield of Kansas, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell J. Miller, in 1983; twin sister, Suzanne Key; and sister, Enid Lucas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at River Glen Christian Church, S31-W30601 Sunset Drive, Waukesha. Fellowship and lunch will follow the service at the church. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
The family will have a memorial gathering in the summer for Jeanís friends who winter away from Waukesha.
