Edwin A. Schowalter

Edwin A. Schowalter of Brookfield died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at age 82. He was born June 13, 1925, in Milwaukee, to Charles and Marie (nee Demrath) Schowalter.
He was a graduate of Washington High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On April 23, 1949, he married the former Edith Ramage. For 25 years, he was the owner of Edís Camera Shop in Brookfield. Ed enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a member of HOG. He was an active member of the Brookfield YMCA and enjoyed many activities at the Brookfield Senior Center. Ed loved to travel the world.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Diana) Schowalter of Oconomowoc, Susan (Rick) Larson of Appleton and Richard (Cynthia) Schowalter of Summit. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Thomas Bowitz of East Troy; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith, in 1998; son Thomas; daughter, Mary Bowitz; and brother, Carl.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Friday, Jan. 11, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. John Bergson of Lord of Life Lutheran Church will officiate. Graveside services with full military honors will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Holy Cross Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery office.
