Dolores J. Wegner

Dolores J. Wegner (nee Johnson) of Mukwonago passed away peacefully at her home Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at age 76. She was born in Wabeno on Jan. 22, 1931, the eldest child of Claude C. Johnson Sr. and Ethel Gooding Johnson.

Dolores was a 1948 graduate of Waukesha High School. She then entered the work force as a stenographer/secretarial skills employee of Federal Refrigeration. This was followed by her employment at the original Resthaven Veterans Administration Hospital at Waukesha serving as executive secretary to the engineering officer. Her talents were also utilized in the founding and sustaining of Zero Zone Ref. Man. Co. Inc.

She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband of 53 years, Earl G. "Duke" Wegner; her loving daughter, Lisa Dolores Wegner, and daughter-in-law, Kirby A. Wiegand. She is further survived by her six siblings, Dorla Davies, Garnet Johnson, Claude C. Johnson Jr., Donald Johnson, Ethelynn "Lynn" Wegner and Wayne Johnson. She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Dolores was a longtime member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Waukesha and presently a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, also of Waukesha. She enjoyed reading, music, playing the piano and organ, crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing, needlework, pinochle, and most importantly, she thrived on the loving company of her family.

A brief visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the religious service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Tom Launius will be officiating. A private (immediate family only) entombment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
