Lucille M. ‘Lucy’ Allen

Lucille M. "Lucy" Allen of Waukesha died peacefully Jan. 25, 2008, at age 96. Lucy was born Aug. 11, 1911, the daughter of John and Kitty (nee McCoy) Minnihan.

She was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha and had been active in the Women’s Auxiliary Democratic Party of Milwaukee. Lucy loved to travel from coast to coast throughout the United States, Italy and her favorite destination, Ireland. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and was an avid sports fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lucy will be deeply missed by her sons, Thomas R. (Zita) Allen of Milwaukee, William R. (Edith) Allen of New Jersey and James M. (Dolores) Allen of Waukesha; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Allen; grandchildren, Timothy Allen, Cathleen (Peter) Fox, Cristine Mikkalson, Todd (special friend Carol) Allen, Jamie (Edward) Brady, Kevin (Jane) Allen, Brian Allen, Bridget (Joseph) Ciurlik, Heather Dorsey, Judi (Robert) Griffiths and Scott (Solana) Allen; great-grandchildren, Robert, Kathryn, Maria, Sarah, Rachel, Erica, Riley, Miranda, Declan, Ryan, Kyle, Makena, Jessica (Christopher), Justin, Ashley (Jason), Taylor, Christopher, Jennifer, Katy, Collin, Jake, Riley, Cameron, Benjamin, Rebecca, Shira, Tamar, Arielle and Noah; great-great-grandchildren, Derrick, Abigail, Austin and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Lucy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert K.; sons, Jerome J. and Robert L.; grandsons, William Jr. and Kenneth; and many brothers and sisters.

A funeral mass for Lucy will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Leonard Barbian will be officiating. The visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
