Rodney A. Mickelson

Feb. 13, 1928 - July 8, 2008

Rodney A. Mickelson died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at LindenGrove in Waukesha. Rodney was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Minneapolis.

He was raised in Waukesha and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from St. Olaf in Northfield, Minn. Rod served in the U.S. Army. He was with the Red Cross as a field director in Korea, Japan and the United States, as well as a chapter manager and in other capacities. Rodney later was associated with Cellular One before his retirement.

Rod is survived by his loving sister, Carol Korf of Madison; nieces, Lisa Korf of Lake Delton and Kristin (Kim) Todd of Madison; grandniece and grandnephew, Kelly and Connor Todd; and a number of cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.A. "Skip" and Laurene Mickelson.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held later in the month; it will be announced here.

Rodney lived a life of service to God, his family, his country and his fellow men and women. He will be dearly missed.
