Paul J. Keenan

Paul J. Keenan passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, July 19, 2008, at age 86.

He is the dear husband of the late Mary Lynn Gilliland Keenan; cherished dad of Carolyn (Tony) Kaboord, Kathy Keenan and Paula (Fred) Jones; loving grandpa of Katharine (Tony) Mudra, Elizabeth Jones and Annie Kaboord; and dear brother of Jim (Betty) Keenan and Isabel Keenan. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Paul proudly served his country during World War II as a B-17 pilot in the 8th Air Force, 398th Group, 603rd Squadron.

He served the community of Waukesha as an alderman, president of the common council and as mayor. Paul worked for Sylvania Electric for more than 30 years as a sales representative and sales manager.

He had a great many passions in his life, including his family, flying war birds, the opera, the Green Bay Packers, the San Antonio Spurs, the Milwaukee Brewers, politics, watching the Food Channel and his never-ending quest for knowledge.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. until the 5 p.m. memorial Mass on Wednesday, July 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12130 W. Center St., Wauwatosa. There will be a private family interment.

His humor, quick wit, integrity and kindness will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
