Dawn Marie Blair

Jan. 5, 1950 - July 16, 2008

Dawn Marie Blair (nee Edwards) of Roscoe, Ill., lost her courageous battle against cancer on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at age 58. She was born in Waukesha to Earl and Stella (Babe) Edwards on Jan. 5, 1950.

Her ability during her illness to make visitors laugh and feel comfortable set a standard that few of us will match. She died surrounded by those who loved her.

Dawn was not a pretentious person and her attitude was "what you see is what you get." She enjoyed laughing and visiting with friends, snowmobiling, wave runners, crocheting, crafts and getting a great bargain at a garage sale. She enjoyed doing general factory work. Her last employment was co-owning a convenience store in Tennessee, where she ran the restaurant part of the business.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Ken Blair, who showed his love by giving her wonderful care throughout her illness. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Dregne of Waukesha; nieces, Lisa (Dennis Wick) Dregne, Kathy (Emile Jamal) Dregne, Barb (Dietrich) Wegner; cousin, Sherry (Ken) Drout, and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of her life was held July 19 in Rockton, Ill.
