Marianne S. Gleisner

March 18, 1925 - July 26, 2008

Marianne S. Gleisner of Green Bay, formerly of Wauwatosa and Shawano, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 83. Marianne was born March 18, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Letha (nee Schmidt) Sandner.

She married Howard Gleisner on Oct. 22, 1954, in Milwaukee. They resided in Wauwatosa until 1976, where she was a member of Bethany-Calvary United Methodist Church, moving to Shawano and residing there until 2006, where she was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Marianne moved to Green Bay, where she lived for the past two years and was involved with the Evergreen Quilters, a member of the Shrine Auxiliary and Union Congregation United Church of Christ.

Marianne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed baking, sewing and crafting her entire life. She also volunteered for a variety of organizations where they lived.

Marianne is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Howard; children, Kris Gleisner of Grants Pass, Ore., Perry (Gail) Gleisner of Hartland and Todd (Nancy) Gleisner of Muskego; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur (Dorothy) Sandner of Milwaukee. Marianne is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

The memorial service for Marianne will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, with the Rev. Charles Mize officiating. The visitation for Marianne will be held from 4:30 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service at the funeral home Thursday, July 31.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Marianne are appreciated to the Chicago Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707.
