Velma ‘Vel’ Shebesta

Nov. 4, 1931 - July 27, 2008

Velma "Vel" Shebesta, 76, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital (who did a great job in taking care of her). She was born Nov. 4, 1931.

Velma was a retiree of Amron Co. in Waukesha, and moved to Minocqua after her retirement. Velma loved bowling and was in a league. She also enjoyed playing games, especially bingo.

Velma was the beloved wife of Arthur Shebesta; loving mother of Christine (Don) Holland; stepmother of Karen (Tom) Ball and Deborah (Marv) Weisner; loving grandmother to Richard, Michael and Jordan; many great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sharon (Leon) Adams.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Hanesen, and son, Dennis Burrington.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bolger Funeral Home, (715) 356-3200, is assisting the family.

Don’t think of her as gone away, her journey’s just begun. Just think of her as resting from sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days or years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living, in the hearts of those she has touched. For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.
