Loretta Louise McGuire

July 6, 1918 - June 2, 2008

Loretta Louise McGuire of Waukesha died Monday, June 2, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 89. Loretta was born July 6, 1918, in Fish Creek, the daughter of the late Theodore and Valeska Becher.

She married the love of her life, the Rev. Ralph McGuire, on June 9, 1937, in Clayton, Mo. Loretta received her nursing degree from WCTC. She was caring and compassionate and was a wonderful nurse at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where she retired in 1975. Loretta and Ralph retired to Mattoon, where they spent 20 years before returning to Waukesha. She enjoyed knitting, playing games of all sorts, and to her family she was the best cook in the world.

Loretta will be sadly missed by her husband of 70 years, Ralph; her children, Don of Onalaska, Roger (Margaret) of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Beverly (Scott) Andrae of Pewaukee, Ralph (Mary) of Ridgeland and Pat (Caroline) of Eau Claire; her 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; her brother, Leslie (Ruby) Becher of Waukesha; her sister, Margaret Thompson of Racine; and dear friend, Mary Engquist of Waukesha.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mike, and brothers and sisters.

A visitation for Loretta will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, June 7, at the Apostolic Life Tabernacle Church, W271-S2929 Merrill Hills Road, town of Waukesha. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin.
