Thomas J. "Tom" Weber, 88, of Myrtle Creek, Ore., passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008. He was born Nov. 9, 1919, in the town of Lisbon, one of 11 children of Albert Joseph and Anna Veronica (nee Delany) Weber.

Tom was raised on the family farm and on March 26, 1942, entered the U.S. Army to serve our country during World War II. After the war, he was united in marriage to Marie Barker on June 19, 1948, in North Lake. They lived in Hartland where he worked as a sheet metal worker, retiring at age 62.

They moved to Myrtle Creek in 1996. They were members of the All Soulís Catholic Church in Myrtle Creek. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed reading and fixing things around the house.

He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Marie of Myrtle Creek. He also leaves his children, Anna Marie DeMarco and her husband, Richard of Denver; Michael Weber and his wife Mary of Fairbanks, Alaska; Mary Beth Burton and her husband Robert of Wright City, Mo., and Theodore Weber of Merton. Tom also leaves a brother, James, and his wife Lois of Lake Geneva, and four sisters, Delores Kerr, Winifred Dibb and her husband James, and Sharon Rasmussen, all of Hartland, and Dwyn Marquardt of Merton. They have four grandsons, three granddaughters and three great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel; three brothers, Don, Dave and Ralph; and two sisters, Genevieve and Bernice.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass on Friday, June 13, at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in North Lake, with the Rev. Anthony McCarthy conducting. Interment will follow at the St. Clare Cemetery.
