Richard ‘Dick’ Casper

July 31, 1941 - June 5, 2008

Richard "Dick" Casper, 66, a five-year resident of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Sierra Vista Regional Health Care Center. He was born July 31, 1941, in Milwaukee, to Alvin and Sylvia Casper.

Dick married his beloved wife of 46 wonderful years, Edelgard, on June 29, 1962, in Germany. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Mountains and passionately involved with the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree member. He served the German American Club of Sierra Vista as president for two years and was currently the vice president. He was an avid golfer and loved gazing at the mountains and stars. He blossomed in retirement, waking up every day in the Arizona sunshine. Above all else, he cherished his grandchildren and being involved in their lives.

Dick is survived by his wife, Edelgard of Sierra Vista; daughters, Michaela (David) Peterson of Alemeda, Calif., and Maria (Joseph) Moro of Waukesha; son, Alfred (Deborah) Casper of Sierra Vista; grandchildren, James (Mina) Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, Michael Moro, Alissa Moro, Natasia Casper and Alexander Casper; brothers, Alvin Casper Jr. and Greg Casper; sister, Joy Marks; and sisters-in-law, Martina Roemhildt and Karin Heubach.

A memorial Mass was celebrated Wednesday, June 11, at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Sierra Vista.
