William ‘Bill’ L. Bautz

William "Bill" L. Bautz of Waukesha died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, at age 80. Bill was born March 26, 1928, in Milwaukee, the son of Garland and Ellen (nee Coskey) Bautz.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952, he went on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, receiving a degree in mechanical engineering. He was united in marriage to Mary Rose Galioto on May 25, 1957; she preceded him in death in 1994. Bill was employed for several companies during his working career, including Schlitz, Falk, Jaeger and Jones Dairy Farm, retiring in 1993. He was fondly known to his grandchildren as "Papa Bill."
Bill will be sadly missed by his children, Beth (Troy) Mahr of Pleasant Prairie, Lynne Bautz of Indiatlantic, Fla., Karen (Mark) Kroll of La Crosse, Brian (Linda) Bautz of Waukesha and Jean Galioto of San Diego; grandchildren, Michaela Kroll, Rosalia and Riley Mahr and Nicholas, Gabriel and Samuel Bautz. He is further survived by his sister, Nancy Bautz of Sarasota, Fla., along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth, Janet and Barbara, and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Private graveside services with full military honors will be held Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
