John L. Keppel
John L. Keppel, 88, of Loudon, Tenn., died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.
He was a retired school teacher with the Waukesha school system and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in World War II, serving as a B24 pilot.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth "Toby" Keppel; his children and their spouses, Mike and Jean Keppel of Sheboygan, David Keppel and Nan Sheppard Keppel of Burlington and Nancy Keppel of Loudon; and four grandchildren, Kristina Keppel Collins and Nate of Milwaukee, Jon and Maria Keppel of Madison, Larry Whalen of Loudon and Naples, Fla., and Brooke Whalen of Loudon and Naples. He is further survived by sisters-in-law, Pauline Loos of Aurora, Ill., and Shirley Rabehl of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and numerous nieces and nephews. He will sadly be missed by all of his friends from all over including Tomahawk, Sheboygan and Waukesha, Naples and Mexico.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Sunday, June 29, at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, 2048 Mulberry St., Loudon. Military honors will be given by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard.
