Timothy J. Claflin

March 18, 1960 - March 13, 2008

Timothy J. Claflin, 47, of Sun Prairie, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008, at St. Maryís Hospital in Madison with his family by his side. He was born March 18, 1960, in Green Bay, the son of Dave and Sue (nee Erickson) Claflin.

Following Timís graduation from Waukesha South High School in 1978, he moved to the Madison area where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a lifelong sports nut - professional, college and high school. Tim was an avid fisherman, who also loved to golf and deer hunt. He enjoyed reading, and many times had more sports statistics than you could imagine. Tim was quick witted and loved to tease, especially his little sister, Jayne.

Tim is survived by his parents, Dave and Sue Claflin of Tomahawk; two sisters, Anne (Doug) Gruenewald of Ames, Iowa, and Jayne Claflin of Waukesha; a brother, Bill Claflin of Bloomington, Minn.; three nieces, Jessica and Megan Claflin and Johanna Gruenewald; longtime friend, Gloria Nelson; his AFS Exchange brother, Bryan Bench of South Africa; his beloved dog, Abby; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from noon until the 1:30 p.m. celebration of life Saturday, March 15, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 4058 Lien Road, Madison, with the Rev. Scott Carlson officiating

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to honor Tim.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
