Daniel Patrick O’Melia

Daniel Patrick O’Melia, 52, died suddenly on Thursday, March 20, 2008, in Waukesha. He was born in Rhinelander on Nov. 20, 1955, to Albert J. and Ruth (Dobbe) O’Melia.

He attended schools in Baraboo and Menasha, and Holy Rosary School in Duluth, Minn. He also attended Duluth Cathedral High School and graduated from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Dan worked for Hydrite Chemical in Cottage Grove; Salentine Pump & Equipment in Waukesha; and most recently at Motion Engineering in Milwaukee. He was a member of the Eagles Club and W.H.O. Club. He was also a member of St. William’s Parish in Waukesha.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Nancy (Braun) and son, Viktor; his mother, Ruth; brothers, Timothy (Sandy) of Townsville, Queensland, Australia, and Barry (Nora) of Issaquah, Wash.; sisters, Nancy (Jeff) Youngquist of Sandwich, Mass.; Laurie (Tom) O’Neill of Duluth, Minn.; Gretchen (Bob) Froehle of Nome, Alaska; Jennifer (Doug) Lewis of Duluth, Minn.; Lisa (Jim) Glowacki of Britt, Minn.; Jean (Gary) Jennings of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and Colleen (Britt) Page of Wichita, Kan. He is also survived by many other relatives, close friends, cousin Jim Lawrence, and a host of other dear friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Albert James O’Melia III and his father.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at St. William’s Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. James Lavann will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the 3:30 p.m. funeral Mass.
