Fern F. Specht

Fern F. Specht, a longtime resident of Waukesha, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at age 86 years. Fern was born Jan. 31, 1922, the daughter of Erwin and Marie Steiniger.
She worked at the Waukesha Public Library for more than 14 years. Fern was a longtime active member of Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha, where she was a Sunday school teacher, church librarian and active with the Priscilla Circle. She was also active in TOPS. Fern loved flowers, especially violets. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Fern will be deeply missed by her children, Thomas Specht of Minneapolis, Sandra Specht of Waukesha, Gail (Gailís ex-husband and friend of Fern, Ken Rundhaug) Specht of Baldwin, and brother, Ray (Vera) Steiniger of West Allis. Fern is further survived by her lifelong friends, Vi Frederickson, Venita Bittner and Elaine Ruprecht, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob," infant son and parents.
A funeral service for Fern will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at The First Congregational Church, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha. The Rev. Ralph Schultz will be officiating. The visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ Building Fund or the Waukesha Public Library.
