Al Nuernberger, 84, of Oconomowoc, formerly of Delafield, died Friday, March 28, 2008. He was born March 9, 1924, in Arnbruck, Germany, the son of Wolfgang Nuernberger and Fanny Fischel.
Al owned Amoco service stations in Delafield for many years. Al served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a baseball coach for boys and girls in Delafield. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Al was active in the Boy Scouts.
Al was a member of the Delafield American Legion and VFW. He also was a member of the National Rifle Association, Wisconsin Gun Collectors Association and 42nd Rainbow Division Veterans.
He is survived by his wife Carol (nee Mutters); children, Gary (Sue) Nuernberger of Stone Bank, Jerry Nuernberger of Delafield and Sherri (Andy) Williams of Oconomowoc; grandchildren, Mitchell and Eric Nuernberger, and Ryan and Nathan Williams; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E. Summit Ave., Oconomowoc. Another visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the noon funeral service Thursday, April 3 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home. The Rev. Neil Rand will be officiating.
Interment will take place at Delafield City Cemetery, Delafield.
