John P. Champan Feb. 14, 1923 - May 3, 2008 John P. Champan, 85, of Waukesha, passed away May 3, 2008, at his Waukesha residence. John was born in Waukesha, the son of Louis and Rose (nee Milleti) Champan. John was a World War II Navy veteran and was a retiree from Quality Aluminum, with 34 years of service and where he had served as past president of his union local. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Viola "Fritzie" Champan and his son, Thomas Champan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Victor, Cordy and Michael Champan; and his sister, Viola Polzien. John is survived by his daughter, Patty (Gil) Glodoski of Campbellsport; his dear friend and companion, Marie Gorski (fiancee), and her loving family. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road, Waukesha (four blocks south of Interstate 94 at highways J and JJ), with funeral services to be held at 6 p.m. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Prairie Home Cemetery.
