Betty Virgina Koepke

April 11, 1920 - May 3, 2008

Betty Virgina Koepke, 88, born Betty Knutson on April 11, 1920, in Newark, N.J., passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Hobe Sound, Fla., due to complications with cancer.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who lived the majority of her life in Waukesha as a member of the Knutson family. She married to Edgar George Koepke, also of Waukesha, who preceded her departure in November 1993.

Betty was a graduate of Randall Elementary School and Waukesha High School. Her lifelong passion for books and newspapers resulted in her spending indefinite hours at the Waukesha Public Library pursuing new works. She was also a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Ann Graves of Hobe Sound and Billie Jeanette (Todd) Harrison of Tequesta, Fla.; grandson, Christopher Michael Todd of Miami Beach, Fla.; and her extended family, Victor Gingell and Clancy of Hobe Sound, Fla., as well as many others. Her extended family also includes the Staffeldts of Waukesha and the Zahns of Bruce.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha, followed by burial at Prairie Home Cemetery next to her husband, Edgar Koepke.
