Rosemary Kuhlman (nee Skelly)

Rosemary Kuhlman, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in Waukesha. Rosemary was born Feb. 23, 1923, to William L. and Mary Agnes (nee Joyce) Skelly in Janesville.

She attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Janesville High School, then worked at Parker Pen. She married her high school sweetheart, Lamar Kuhlman, on April 25, 1945. They raised three daughters in Janesville, and then moved to Waukesha in 1963 where Rosemary worked at the Carroll College library from 1968 to 1988. A voracious reader, she passed on her love of books to all she met. She was also a devoted listener of public radio. Rosemary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and sang in the choir.

She is survived by husband, Lamar Kuhlman of Waukesha; daughters, Christine (Thomas) Traeger of Waukesha, Karen Kuhlman of Oconomowoc and Elizabeth (J. Christopher) Moore of Carlinville, Ill.; grandchildren, Andrew (Renee) Traeger of Waukesha, Francine (John) Plunkett of West Allis and Victoria Moore of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Arwen and A.J. Traeger; brother, Alan (Kay) Skelly of Janesville; and sister, Jean (Gordon) McCann of Janesville.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, W. Gerald, Thomas and Michael Skelly, and two sisters, Marguerite Doheny and Agnes Weins.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday, May 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1827 N. Washington St., Janesville.
