Daryl R. Tonn

Daryl R. Tonn of Waukesha died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 49. He was born in Fond du Lac on Sept. 2, 1958.

Daryl graduated from Plymouth High School in 1976 and went on to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he achieved a degree in accounting in 1980. He married Laurie Langkabel on July 24, 1982. Daryl worked at McGladrey & Pullen, Masters Gallery Food, Harnischfaeger, Universal Companies, and he was currently U.S. controller and vice president of administration for Duncan Solutions, Inc. He served as church treasurer at St. Johns Lutheran in Plymouth and All Saints Lutheran Church in Wales. He greatly enjoyed traveling, particularly to Jamaica.

Daryl will be sadly missed by his wife of 25 years, Laurie; his daughter, Erin; son, Jerad; his parents, Ronald and Virginia of Plymouth; his sisters, Jacqueline Tonn of Greenfield, and Mary (fiance Bill Zuba) Sliwinski of Greendale; his father- and mother-in-law, George and Ellie Langkabel of Plymouth; his sister-in-law, Lesa (Bob) Bartel of Sheboygan Falls; and his brother-in-law, Michael (Paula) Langkabel of Oakfield. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Daryl was preceded in death by his grandparents and his infant brother, James Tonn.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, May 22, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Visitation continues from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, May 23, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., Waukesha. The Rev. James Bickel will be officiating.
