Eleanor Jane (nee Schmuki) Brown

Eleanor Jane (nee Schmuki) Brown, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 81. Eleanor was born Oct. 8, 1927, the daughter of Ernest and Margaret (nee Brandt) Schmuki.

She married Harold James Brown on Jan. 28, 1950. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, the OWLS and the Missionary Society. Eleanor was an example to all who knew her as a warm, accepting, kind and loving person who gave everything of herself and expected nothing in return. Her favorite times were family gatherings around her dinner table.

Eleanor will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years, Harold; her sons, David (James Niemuth) and Charles (Pat Pehoski); her grandchildren, Eric Charles, Kevin David and Stephanie Anne; their mother, Sharon Brown; her brother, Edward Schmuki; her sisters, Carol (George) Stigler and Ann (Don) Brook; and her sister-in-law, June Schmuki. She was the special aunt of Teresa (Loren) Froomin and many other nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Margaret (John) Bacon, Ernest Schmuki, Richard Schmuki, Evelyn (Robert) Richards, Claude (Virginia) Schmuki, Harold (Mary) Schmuki and William Schmuki.

A visitation for Eleanor will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Nov. 13, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood, Waukesha. The Rev. Art Koepsell will be officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Prairie Home Cemetery.
