William B. Spellman Jr.

William B. Spellman Jr., 85, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Four Winds Manor. He was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Waukesha, the son of William B. Spellman Sr. and Genevieve Archambault.

He lived and worked in Waukesha until 1959, including employment at Federal Windows and Yellow Cab. Bill was a longtime employee of the Dane County Highway Department as a purchasing agent. He enjoyed working in his yard and it showed. He also enjoyed splitting wood and spent many times at the Verona Senior Center. Bill also loved to play cards, especially euchre.

Survivors include four children, Sandy (Reynold) Anderson of Mount Horeb, William (Jackie) Spellman of Waukesha, Patricia McCluskey of Belleville and Tracy (DuWayne Chouinard) Spellman of Cambria; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Laura Jane Gruendler of Waukesha.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie, on April 24, 1995; a son, Michael; a grandson, Timothy; and two brothers, Lazarus and John.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Thursday, Nov. 13, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 301 N. Main St., Verona. The Rev. Kenneth Klink will officiate with burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Mount Vernon.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund.
