LeRoy Zingler of Rice Lake died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Luther Midelfort Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born Feb. 19, 1933 to Herman and Anna (nee Buhrandt) Zingler in Wabeno.
LeRoy served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Pharmacy School in 1958. He married Shirley Bockes in 1965.
He owned Herbst Pharmacy in Waukesha for many years and managed a number of other retail pharmacies in southeastern Wisconsin. LeRoy retired to Rice Lake in 1997 and he and Shirley enjoyed their time there as well as the winters they spent in Zephyrhills, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Holly (Jacks) Lee, with granddaughters Sydney and Alanna of Philadelphia, and Heather (Noah) Day of Minneapolis; and sister, Helen Hood of Westfield.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Kurt; his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rice Lake. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the church (visitation preceding).
