Lucille E. Gygax

Lucille E. Gygax of Waukesha died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Waukesha Springs at age 91. Lucille was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Waukesha, the daughter of the late Edward G. and Olga H. (nee Delzer) Baumgartner.
She married the late Roy Gygax on Aug. 31, 1940, and worked on the farm growing strawberries and had a large dairy and egg business. After her husband’s passing in 1972, she enjoyed traveling extensively all over the world, and many years she enjoyed making ceramics and crocheting. Lucille was involved with 4-H for many years and was a member of the Waukesha Homemakers Club and Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was involved in many church activities.
Lucille will be sadly missed by her children, Leroy (Mary) Gygax of Lomira, Ralph (Beverly) Gygax of Westerville, Ohio, Joan (Bruce) Spicer of Belmont, Calif., and Gerold (Marla) Gygax of Waukesha; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and her sister, Jean Moyer.
The visitation for Lucille will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, with the Rev. James Gorman officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
