Mary E. Jaecks

Mary E. Jaecks, 86, of Plover and formerly of Waukesha County, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Maple Ridge Care Center in Plover.

She was born Jan. 26, 1922, in the township of Weirgor in Sawyer County, the daughter of Albert L. and Eva (nee Hodgson) Greengo. She married Donald Jaecks on Aug. 11, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa.

Mary is survived by three daughters, Lilace Jorgensen of Fayetteville, N.C., Karen (Ron) Takacs of Almond and Cindy Liebl of Stevens Point; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jaecks; her parents; a sister; and two brothers.

Mary had been a homemaker for much of her adult life. She had worked as a lab technician for General Casting Corp. in Waukesha for a few years. She and Donald had also owned a resort on Blueberry Lake in Hayward for about a decade. Mary liked being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. She loved spending time with her family and friends and playing games. Mary was the great-granddaughter of one of the oldest families in Waukesha County.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Oct. 4, at Almond United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Leistra will officiate.

The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary’s daughters would like to extend a special "thank you" to the caregivers who helped with Mary’s care, both at home and at Maple Ridge Care Center.
