Daniel ‘Dan’ William Stauffer

Dec. 1, 1988 - Sept. 29, 2008

Daniel "Dan" William Stauffer, 19, of Waukesha, died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at his home at age 19.

Dan was born in Pitesti, Romania, on Dec. 1, 1988. He was a 2007 graduate of Kradwell Middle and High School in Wauwatosa and was currently working for Industry to Industry as an electro-mechanical assembler.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Dan knew that he was a special individual. Dan was a brave and tender soul who struggled through many challenges and embraced life. He worked tremendously hard for what he gained. His last accomplishments were getting his driver’s license and a job he loved. He was excited about the new world these accomplishments opened to him.

Dan was a hard worker and took great pride in the quality of his work. His imagination, sense of humor and caring nature will be missed.

Dan had a tender heart and a spine of steel that allowed him to survive four years of orphanage life. He was sympathetic to others and a wonderful helper.

Dan was a collector of stuffed animals, especially bears, and DVD movies. For many years, Dan performed in the Children of the Sun Drum Troupe sponsored by the Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in West Allis.

Dan will be deeply missed by his parents, Bill Stauffer and Judy Mathison of Waukesha; his brother, Brandon Krawczyk of Waukesha; his dog, Princess; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Garth and Charlene Stauffer, and his maternal grandparents, Lyall and Caroline Mathison.

The visitation for Dan will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the 4:30 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Oct. 5, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
