Mollie R. Potthast (nee
Ruff) of Waukesha died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at the Harbor Club in Port
Washington at age 96.
Mollie was a longtime
resident of Waukesha, residing on Racine Avenue for 64 years. She was a member
of the First Homemakers of Waukesha for more than 70 years. She also was a
volunteer for the American Red Cross and United Way in Waukesha County for many
years. Mollie worked for the Ethan Allen School for Boys for 18 years.
She joined Elmbrook Church
of Brookfield and faithfully participated in the Seasons of Life Bible Study and
Senior First Fridays.
She was the beloved mother
of Carol (Donald) Savatski of Port Washington. Mollie is also loved and survived
by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, August, and her sons, Arnold and Robert Potthast.
Visitation will be held from
5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Church and Chapel
Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of
Interstate 94), Waukesha. Private interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
A heartfelt thanks to the
Harbor Club caregivers, who are all angels, and staff at VITAS Hospice for their
loving care given to our mother and grandmother.
