Lola M. Horn

Lola M. Horn of Mukwonago passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was 89. Lola was born in Evansville on May 20, 1919, the daughter of Wayne and Martha (nee Hackbarth) Shaw.
She was a graduate of Evansville High School and of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in education, French, German and library sciences.
Lola was a former librarian at the Waukesha Public Library and a part-time secretary at the former Horn, Stoecker and Horn Hardware Store in Mukwonago. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Mukwonago and she enjoyed swimming, shopping and playing bridge.
Survivors include her children, Deborah (Ernest) Witzke of Fort Atkinson, Brenda (Rodney) Baker of Toledo, Ohio, and Janette (Jeffrey) Rolfe of Mukwonago; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John, on Feb. 21, 2008.
Private family services will be held with burial at St. Peterís Cemetery in East Troy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Mukwonago Public Library or the Mukwonago Education Foundation would be appreciated.
