Edward J. McGrath

Edward J. McGrath was born to eternal life Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at age 66.

Edward was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Stenz Griesell-Smith Post 449, the Waukesha County Emergency Rescue Support Team, the National Association of Realtors, the Wisconsin Realtors Association and the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors. Edward was known to be a relocation specialist. He also was a member of the Daniel Boone Conservation League, the National Rifle Association, the Open Air’s Convertible Club and the Polar Bear Club. Edward was a retiree of Sears.

He was the dearly beloved husband and best friend of Kathleen (nee Schlehlein); wonderful father and best buddy of Joseph E.; fond brother of Patricia (Michael) Hoppe and Michael McGrath (Carol Brenner); dear son-in-law of Mary Jane Schlehlein; and brother-in-law of Thomas (Marina) Schlehlein and Mary Susan Diedrich (Jeff Turkal). Not to be excluded, he is also survived by his special pet, Shane, and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. time of prayer Monday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home, followed by a procession to St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 18000 W. Greenfield Ave, for the Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Following the Mass, military honors will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorials are appreciated to a special account for Edward’s son, Joseph E. McGrath, that has been established at Equitable Bank or can be mailed to the funeral home.
