Schauer (nee Clarke) Sept. 23, 1923 - Sept.
11, 2008 Charlotte Mae Schauer
(nee Clarke) of Waukesha passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in
Waukesha, at age 84. She was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Kenosha, to George
Edwin and Ella Mary (nee Coolidge). Charlotte married
Ralph Adam Schauer on June 5, 1948. Survivors include her
three children, Mary (Mark) Schoonover, Gerald (Nancy) Schauer and Diane
(Roger Butzlaff) Schauer. She is also survived by four grandchildren,
Milo, Molly, Kristin and Alison. She was preceded in
death by her parents; her brother, Donald Edwin Clarke; and her sister,
Anna Jane Dwight (nee Clarke). Charlotte was a
graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. She enlisted in the U.S. Naval
Service in 1944 and served as a pharmacist’s mate third class for two
years. Following the service, Charlotte graduated Carroll College in 1948
and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1968. She was married for
60 years and lived most of her life in West Allis with her husband, Ralph.
She taught primary grades for 19 years in the Whitnall School District in
Hales Corners before her retirement in 1981. A memorial gathering
will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Sept. 16, at Church and Chapel
Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four
blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Memorials are
suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin. Church and Chapel
