Jerome L. ‘Jeff’ Jeffers

Jerome L. ‘Jeff’ Jeffers of Waukesha died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, in Oconomowoc, at age 67. Jeff was born Nov. 5, 1940, in Waukesha, the son of Howard and Virginia (Bass) Jeffers.

He attended schools in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha High School. He continued his education with his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his law school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jeff worked for the past 25 years as patent counsel for Beyer Corp. He had a love for traveling, scuba diving, playing tennis and recently photography.

Jeff will be deeply missed by his daughters, Kelly Jeffers of Chicago and Kristen (David Houpt) Jeffers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; granddaughter, Olivia Lynn Houpt; sisters, Victory (David Gilman) Jeffers of Boulder, Colo., and Rhonda (Richard) Goldie of Shorewood; and a brother, John (Peggy) Jeffers of Apex, N.C. Jeff is additionally survived by his nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Virginia Jeffers, as well as his aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Sept. 20, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, with the Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Inurnment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jeff’s name are appreciated to the mental health association of your choice.
