Donald D. Royal

Donald D. Royal of the town of Genesee died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at his home at the age of 65. He was born July 7, 1943, in Nebraska City, Neb., to William H. and Millicent (nee Poggemeyer) Royal.

On Aug. 31, 1965, he married the former Donna Schomerus in Syracuse, Neb. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska in 1967 and his masters of tax from Washington School of Law in 2003. From 1968 to 1978 he worked as a tax accountant for Bucyrus-Erie and from 1978 to 1979, for KPMG. He had worked for Beloit Corp. from 1979 to 1986, which was then purchased by Harnischfeger, and he continued working there until 1996. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He inspired many people to reach beyond what they thought were their limits and helped them to reach heights they had not believed were possible. He will be remembered for his creativity, his artistry, his wisdom, his knowledge, his insatiable curiosity and his indomitable spirit. He will be remembered by all who knew him.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Donna, of the town on Genesee, along with their children, Christopher Royal of Pewaukee, Gregory Royal of East Troy and Lori (Jeff) Schultz of North Prairie. He is further survived by his brothers, Norman Royal of Syracuse, Neb., and William F. (Kathy) Royal of Lincoln, Neb., as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
