W. 'Lou'
Martin of Waukesha died Monday, April
6, 2009, while vacationing in Arizona at age 77. He was born Aug. 2, 1931,
in Milwaukee, the son of Walter and Alice (Wojtysiak) Martin.
Louis
served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Lou was
united in marriage to Patricia Zolinski on Sept. 8, 1956. After working
for many years at Kelley Company in Milwaukee, he was the director of
administrative services at St. Vincent DePaul Parish in Milwaukee until
his retirement. Lou was a very active member and volunteer at St. Josephユs
Catholic Church in Waukesha. Lou
will be deeply missed by his wife, Pat of Waukesha; their children, Mary
Martin of Michigan, Dr. Robert (Prudence) Martin of California, Dr.
Patrick (Jennifer Kerr) Martin of Arizona and Gerette (Dr. Kevin Kennedy)
Martin-Kennedy of Waukesha; grandchildren, Alison, Jocelyn and Brycen
Martin of California, Tianna Martin of Arizona, Devin and Christian Kerr
of Arizona, Tarin, Donald, Colleen and Erin Kennedy of Waukesha; and
siblings, Gilbert (Susie) Martin of St. Francis, Pat Glover of Florida,
Gary Martin of Milwaukee, Sr. Alicia Martin of Chicago, Allan (Sandee)
Martin of Arizona and Corinne (Jim) Stone of Arizona. He is further
survived by sister-in-law Barbara Martin of Texas, brother-in-law Allen
Cernicky of Iowa, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lou
was preceded in death by his son, Mike, in 1987; brother, Robert Martin;
sister, Ramona Cernicky; and his parents. Visitation
will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. vigil service Monday, April 13
at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Services
continue at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14 at the funeral home, followed by a
procession to the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Josephユs
Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Bill Key will
preside. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
