William C. Stark Sr.

William C. Stark Sr., 86, of Waukesha and formerly of Palmyra, found peace Thursday, April 16, 2009.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marianne. He was the loving father of Melvin (Rose Mary) Stark, Patricia (Graeme) Gossett, Teresa (Dave) Hays, William (Kris) Stark Jr., Gregory (Kris) Stark, Jean Elizabeth Stark, Pat Brown, Judy (Glenn) Hunt and Joanne (Chet) Bingaman; grandfather of 12; and great-grandfather of nine.

He also is survived by three brothers, Melvin (Marge) Stark, Donald (Delores) Stark and Dale (Mary Lee) Stark, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bill was a Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the Genesee Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5270 and a member of the Palmyra American Legion Post No. 304. He also was a former volunteer at the Palmyra Historical Museum, a 4-H leader for 25 years and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service Monday, April 20, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha.
