He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and John Christian Petersen, and a brother, Albert (Nora) of California.

After marriage to Nancy and moving to Milwaukee, he graduated from Marquette University and received his masterís degree from the University of Wisconsin. An engineer by trade, John was an instructor at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and later moved to Decatur, Ill., to work for Zexel. Throughout his life he made many friends and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at St. Lukeís Parish, 18000 W. Greenfield Ave, Brookfield. A prayer service and Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:45 and noon, respectively. Military honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Wisconsin Right to Life or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Wisconsin Chapter are appreciated.
