Doratea Monrial (nee Rios)

Doratea Monrial (nee Rios) of Waukesha, died on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, surrounded by her family at the Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center at age 94. She was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Hondo, Texas, the daughter of Raphael and Guadalupe (nee Gallardo) Rios. 

On May 21, 1934, she married Geronimo Monrial. Doratea was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1944 and an active member at La Casa de Esperanza. 

She will be sadly missed by her children, Rosa (John) Hurtado of Waukesha, Anita (Dale) Weyer of Hubertus, Ramon (Beth) Monrial of Greenfield, Jose (Christine) Monreal of Waukesha, Daniel Monrial of Waukesha and Maria (David) Ristau of Waukesha; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Geronimo, on Dec. 18, 1981; and her sister, Francisca Rodriguez, on Jan. 1, 2007. 

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. vigil service today, Aug. 11, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Services continue Wednesday, Aug. 12, beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, for the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Graveside services will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
