 Janet A. Simo of Waukesha died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at LindenGrove Health Care Center at age 88.

Janet was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 3, 1920, the daughter of Christian and Sadie Johnson. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waukesha. Janet was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. Janet’s greatest joy was her grandkids.

Janet will be dearly missed by her children, Chris Purdy, Joanne (Craig) Andersen, Roger (Sue) Wilson, David (Diane) Wilson, Joseph (Sharon) Simo, John (Donna) Simo and James Wilson; her grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Janet is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents; and a brother, Roger.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the noon memorial Mass on Thursday, Aug. 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. William Key will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated to be donated to the charity of their choice at a later date.
