Kenneth J. Riekkoff found peace Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at age 76.

Ken served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and was a retiree from Milwaukee County. He had a love for travel and journeyed over much of the world. At home, he performed volunteer work with Habitats for Humanity and for his church. Ken’s sense of humor, work ethic and “can-do” attitude will forever serve as an inspiration to family and friends.

He was the beloved husband of Betterae; loving father of Matthew (Celeste Dawson), Annette (Greg) Noeske and Marcy; grandfather of Jason, Kyle and Kurt; brother of Bill (Beverly Vite) Riekkoff; brother-in-law of June (Don) Williams and Graceann (Norman) Kangas; stepfather of Linda (Doug) Cosgrove; stepgrandfather of Morgan and Austin; and husband of the late Carol L. Riekkoff. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. memorial service Sunday, Aug. 16, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., (next to Woodfield Park), Waukesha. Take Interstate 94 to Exit 293 (Grandview Boulevard) south to Madison Street, east to Moreland Boulevard and south to Dopp Street (547-8518).

Memorials may be made to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County, the Salvation Army or Ascension Lutheran Church.
