Ida Mae ‘Mickey’ Kant

Ida Mae "Mickey" Kant of Waukesha died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at the age of 85. She was born Aug. 9, 1924, the daughter of John and Ida Mae Lester.

She married Delbert Schroeder in 1944; he preceded her in death. She later married Arthur Kant in 1977, who also preceded her in death. In her earlier years, Mickey enjoyed bowling and dancing. Mickey was a devoted member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was very involved with the Holy Name Society. She worked at J.C. Penney’s and for Waukesha County as a payroll clerk in the highway department. She enjoyed watching Brewers and Packers games.

Mickey will be dearly missed by her daughter, Suzanne (Rick Selchert) Maske; son, Mark (Kathy) Schroeder; grandchildren, Andrew Maske, James Schroeder and Ellen Arnson; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Mickey will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Burial will take place immediately following the service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
