John Karl Frank I

John Karl Frank I, of Waupun, formerly of Waukesha, died Aug. 19, 2009, at Waupun Memorial Hospital at the age of 42 after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 12, 1967, in West Allis, to Markus and Shirley (nee McDonald) Frank.

John was a 1985 graduate of Brookfield East High School. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving on active duty from 1985 until 1987, and then served in the Reserves until 1998. On May 2, 1998, he married Patti (nee Sepeda) in Las Vegas. He had been employed at Kreilkamp Trucking for four years. John was a former member of the American Legion in Juneau.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Patti of Waupun; sons, John Karl Frank II, 9 years old, and Joel Markus Frank, 6 years old, both of Waupun; parents, Markus and Rosemary Frank of West Bend; brother, Mark Allen Frank of Milwaukee; mother-in-law, Olivia Guerra of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law, Plasida (Rafael) Mendez of Waukesha; nieces and nephews, Eric (Jasmine) Rivera of Watertown, Sarah Rivera of Milwaukee, Amanda, Brittany and Josh, all of Texas; cousins, Joleen (Scott Sr.) Schmidt of Waukesha, Cheryl Korich, Carolyn Lupo and Charles Zillmer; aunts, Trudy Zillmer and Nelda DeJung; great-nephew, Eric S. Rivera; and great-nieces, Arrayah Sanchez, Siarah Ortiz and Layla Rivera. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from Texas, Edward (Barbara) Guerra, Pete Guerra II, Steven Guerra, Roman Guerra, Juanita Guerra, Margaret Guerra (Robert) Garza, Mary Grace (Gilbert) Sanchez, Pete Guerra III, Richard Euresti, Joe Arthur Euresti and George E. Euresti; special friends, the Jones family of Waukesha; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Frank; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sesilio and Lupe Sepeda; and sisters-in-law, Linda and Diana Anguiano and Lucy Guerra.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Monday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
