Alvin C. Stippich

Alvin C. Stippich, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, died peacefully at home Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at the age of 80. Alvin was born May 5, 1929, the son of Arno and Elsie (Schmitt) Stippich.

Alvin married Jean Roberts on Sept. 18, 1954, at the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean; children, Susan (Bill) Kuhtz, Alan Stippich and Karen (Erik) Olson, all of Waukesha; grandchildren, Laura, Brian and Kevin Kuhtz, Cassidy Gallun and Kate Olson, all of Waukesha; brother, LeRoy Stippich of Waukesha; and sisters, Elaine (Ralph) Drydyk of Franklin and Esther Hofmann of Waukesha. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Alvin graduated from Waukesha High School in 1948. He was the owner of Riverside Mold & Die Inc. until his retirement in 1988. He had a lifelong love of golf and was able to accomplish the golfer’s dream of not one, but two holes-in-one. He enjoyed playing cards, trips to Las Vegas and being with his many friends. Alvin was a loyal supporter of Waukesha North Athletics and was an avid Cubs and Packers fan. He was a lifetime and active member of the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Alvin will be fondly remembered for his devotion to helping others.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service Thursday, Aug. 27, at the church. A private family burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Alvin’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all his caregivers during the final stages of his courageous battle with advanced prostate cancer.
