Clara K. Palade

Clara K. Palade of Waukesha died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 87. She was born June 12, 1922, in Illinois, the daughter of Verne and Nora (Dyer) Walters.

Clara was united in marriage to William Palade on July 24, 1948, in Chicago; he preceded her in death in 2000. After working for Uncle Paulís Toy Shop in Waukesha in her younger years, she was employed for many years at Steins Drugs (Walgreens) as a photo technician. Clara had a love of people and always cared for others. She especially enjoyed participating in many of the activities at the Virginia, where she was a resident.

Clara will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Debbie (Danny) Hawver of Dousman and Bonnie Zientara of Waukesha; three grandchildren, Timothy (Amanda) Hawver of Waukesha, William Zientara of Waukesha and Amanda Oliden of Minnesota; and her brother, James Robert "Bob" Walters of Warrenville, Ill. She will also be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Albert, Harry, Lee, Lloyd, Earl and Ralph; and her sister, Frances Foss.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 5, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Dennis Henn will preside. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and support of Clara for the past 12 years.
