Victor Paulos

June 9, 1927 – Dec. 7, 2009

Victor Paulos of Waukesha died peacefully Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at age 82.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice (nee Dutschmann); his children, Lynn Patterson of Texas, Philip of Waukesha, Gail (Ron) Darnell of West Bend and Terrie (Tom) Peret of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Sarah and Megan Patterson, and Allison, Christopher and Mitchell Peret; his brothers, Douglas (Harriet) of Florida and Ted (Ordelle) of Texas; and other relatives and many friends.

Born in Milwaukee on June 9, 1927, to the late Xenophon and Magdalene (nee Habermann), Mr. Paulos graduated valedictorian of Lutheran High School Class of 1945 and received his teaching degree from Concordia University at River Forest, Ill., in 1949. He went on to earn a master’s degree in history from California State College at Los Angeles in 1964, and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois in 1973.

Mr. Paulos was an elementary school teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in McAllen, Texas, Mount Calvary Lutheran School in Milwaukee and First Lutheran School in Monrovia, Calif. For 27 years Mr. Paulos taught history and economics at his alma mater, Milwaukee Lutheran High School, retiring in 1991.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Dr. Bobby Wu, Dr. Stephen Strother, the caring staff of Wheaton Franciscan Home Health & Hospice, and everyone who sent their love and condolences.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Harder Funeral Home, 18700 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. A second visitation will be held from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 12, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1205 S. East Ave., Waukesha. A private interment will be held.
