Marvin A. Nitschke

Marvin A. Nitschke passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, in Mukwonago. Marvin was born on a farm in the town of Clyman with his twin brother, Harley, on Jan. 27, 1918.

He grew up on a farm near Horicon, and after high school, he attended th University of Wisconsin-Madison for two years. He was married to Gertrude Krohn in 1942. He was called to the Army in the end of 1942 and served for 3 1ŕ2 years in the infantry in World War II. After the service, Marvin went to work in Mukwonago and East Troy as an auto mechanic. He then became an electrician at General Castings and RTE-ASEA in Waukesha until his retirement.

He and Trudy had six children, Jim, Naomi, Norman, David and Randall. One child, Dale, was deceased at birth on Jan. 19, 1951. He leaves 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four brothers, Walter, Lorenz, Herbert and his twin brother, Harley.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Adele Nitschke, and a sister Myrtle Wagner.

He was a Sunday school superintendent and choir member.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund, LindenGrove-Mukwonago Nursing Home or Birchrock Corners Group Home would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held from noon until the 1:30 p.m. service Saturday, Dec. 19 at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church, 410 Highway NN, Mukwonago. Interment to follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago.
