Edward I. Bainbridge

Edward I. "Ed" "Ted" Bainbridge of Waukesha died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Elmbrook Hospital at the age of 94. He was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Ableman, the son of John and Agnes (nee Kosmoski) Bainbridge.
Ed was united in marriage to Audrey Kern on July 20, 1946, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha, where he later served on the Board of Elders and the church council. He was a mail carrier in Waukesha for many years and was a World War II Army veteran. Ed enjoyed gardening, woodworking and making stained glass.
Ed will be deeply missed by his son, Douglas (Lana) Bainbridge of New Berlin; his daughter, Sandy Bainbridge of Waukesha; grandchildren, Chad (Aimee) Bainbridge and Carrie (fiance Kevin Nielson) Bainbridge; great-grandchildren, Callan and Eli; and his sister, Betty McLean of Crystal Lake, Ill. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Katherine Bainbridge of Baraboo, Violet Lewis of Waukesha and Doris Kern of Waukesha; brothers-in-law, Jack Meyers of Woodstock, Ill., Henry (Jane) Kern of Mayville, Harvey (Elizabeth) Kern of Waukesha; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Audrey, in 2006; his sisters, Margaret Squires, Dorothy Bainbridge and Caroline Meyers; his brothers, Raymond, John and Thomas Bainbridge; and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Jan. 3, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Arthur Koepsell will preside. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Prairie Home Cemetery.
