Scott Alan Rowlands June 16, 1957 - Jan. 24, 2009
Scott served with the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years, retiring in 2001. He served aboard the USS Hector, USS Horne, USS Sacramento, NAS Security-Barbers, Assault Craft and the USS Vinceness. He was a gas turbine tech for much of that time. After his retirement, he worked briefly at Lumberman’s in Shelton, then worked for the Department of Corrections until taking a disability retirement in October 2007. Surviving relatives include his wife, Roxanne, of the family home in Elma; two sons, Edwin Silvestre of San Diego and Spencer Rowlands of Elma; two grandchildren, Argenie and Alyssa Silvestre of San Diego; his mother, Doris Rowlands of Waukesha; and two sisters, Robin Rowlands of Albuquerque and Leigha Schatzman of Milwaukee. Visitation was at the Coleman Mortuary. A graveside service with military honors was at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042.
