Glenn C. Terlinden

Glenn C. Terlinden of Pewaukee died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 79. He was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Waukesha, the son of Charles Garrett and Emma Louise (nee Koch) Terlinden.
Glenn was a 1947 graduate of Waukesha High School and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Glenn proudly served his country in the Army in the Signal Corps during the Korean conflict. He was a very active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9537 in Pewaukee and was interested in veteransí concerns. Glenn worked for Wisconsin Centrifugal and then for AT&T as an installer, retiring in 1991 after 35 years of service. He was an aviation enthusiast, private pilot and loved to read and do crossword puzzles. He was a lifelong member of the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, an active volunteer and caregiver and delivered Meals on Wheels. Glenn was truly devoted to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (nee Smith), whom he married Feb. 2, 1970, in Kew Gardens, N.Y.; along with their children, Charles Glenn Terlinden of Milwaukee and Steven John (Kate) Terlinden of River Falls; and grandchildren, Julianne Lois and Abraham Peter Terlinden, both of River Falls. He is further survived by his brother, Dean (Jane) Terlinden of Long Beach, Calif.; brother-in-law, Phillip Boomgard of Palm Desert, Calif.; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Peter Charles Terlinden; brother, Carl; sisters, Fern Shaner, Olive Boomgard and Ruth Terlinden; and a sister-in-law, Isabel Terlinden.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Ralph Schultz will preside. Burial of cremated remains with full military honors will take place at Auburn Cemetery in Campbellsport.
