Mary E. 'Betty' Lagon July 4, 1918 - Feb. 20, 2009
She married the love of her life, Lester, on June 18, 1938. She was a cherished and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to spend time with her family. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, a member of the Asbury Fellowship and the Norma Craven Circle. She was also a Tower of Chimes Newsletter volunteer and taught religious school and Sunday school. Betty was a Cub Scout den mother and was a sales associate at McCoy’s Department Store for many years. Betty will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 70 years, Lester; her son, Gary of Waukesha; her granddaughters, Leslie (Tony) Winter of Hustisford and Lonna (Ron) Hannan of Waukesha; her great-grandchildren, Tessa, Paige, JD and Ivy; and her twin brother, John "Bud" Malagian of Orlando, Fla. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Lucille. A funeral service for Betty will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, 53186. The Rev. Don Fenner will officiate. A visitation will take place from noon until the time of the funeral service Tuesday at the church. A private entombment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
